Rebrand and Ecommerce Launch: From Wholesale to D2C

SamSam··5 min readSuccess Stories

A heritage brand wanted to move from wholesale-only to D2C. We led rebrand and ecommerce strategy, visual identity, and Shopify build for a successful launch.

The Challenge

The brand had recognition in wholesale but needed a distinct D2C identity and a store that could stand on its own—not just mirror the wholesale catalog experience.

Positioning for D2C

We defined a D2C-specific position: who the direct customer is, what they value, and how the brand shows up for them. This informed messaging, imagery, and product storytelling.

Visual Identity and Design System

We created a refreshed visual identity that honored heritage but felt current. Typography, color, and imagery guidelines were documented so the site and future campaigns stayed consistent.

Shopify Build and Launch

We designed and built the Shopify store with a focus on product storytelling, navigation, and checkout. Launch was supported by a phased campaign plan to drive early traffic and feedback.

First-Year Outcomes

The store launched on time and hit first-year targets. Post-launch we continued to optimize conversion and creative based on real customer behavior and feedback.
