Retargeting Strategies for Fashion Ecommerce

Retargeting turns intent into sales. For fashion brands, segmenting by behavior and tailoring creative and offers can significantly lift conversion and ROAS.

Why Retargeting Matters for Fashion

Fashion purchases are considered. Shoppers browse, compare, and often leave. Retargeting keeps your brand in front of them with the right message and offer at the right time.

Segmenting by Behavior

Treat site visitors, product viewers, and cart abandoners differently. Show product-specific creative to viewers; offer a gentle incentive or urgency to abandoners. Avoid one-size-fits-all retargeting.

Creative That Feels Personal, Not Creepy

Use dynamic creative where possible (product carousels, recently viewed). Keep copy and imagery aligned with the segment—reminder for visitors, “you left something behind” for abandoners.

Frequency and Burnout

Cap frequency so you don’t exhaust audiences. Exclude converters and set windows (e.g. 7–30 days) so you’re not chasing cold traffic. Refresh creative regularly.

Measuring Retargeting ROI

Track ROAS and CPA by segment. Compare retargeting performance to cold acquisition to understand true incrementality and avoid over-attributing to retargeting.
